Expressing our humanity through frailty
I did some ‘Home Caring’ for a while. One elderly, frail lady I regularly visited became distressed one day. She suddenly said that she did not know why she was still alive. Younger people were dying and she just dragged on as a useless burden. I was just about to leave her to go to my next client and that was not the sort of comment I wanted to hear just as I was about to go through the door.
